Oracle BICC- Business Intelligence Cloud Connector.

In this Post , I will give the overview of BICC and its core components like data-stores , scheduling and external storage configurations.

1) What is BICC.

Business Intelligence Cloud Connector is an oracle offering to extract data from oracle fusion applications cloud data sources into an external Object storage or UCM.

This suits mainly for Bulk extract operation which can further invoked by ETL/ELT tools like ODI AND Informatica and so on..,to feed data for various data warehousing solutions.

In Layman terms , Using this Offering , Oracle is exposing the vo's (View Objects) for all the Modules (Financials, SCM ,HCM,EPM ..) to extract the data for various reporting and External auditing needs.

3) Explore Offering and Data-stores.


Selecting Financials related Data Store.


Search Business Object.

In the below screenshot , I have selected a FA related business object.


4) Enabling-Disabling attributes in Data-stores.


Click on the data store name from the able step , you will see the below screen.

On this page , once can see the list of columns available in the data store along with the information like whether they are enabled or disabled for the extract and incremental and primary key options.


When you clicked on edit columns , you will get the option to , check and un check the columns in this data store



Depending on the requirement , they can include or exclude the columns in the data store and perform save.

5) How to Configure an External Storage.


Click the Configure External Storage button in the panel tab and select the Configure External Storage link to open the Configure External Storage dialog box, where you can specify storage areas into which Cloud data is loaded. For example, to load into one or more Oracle Cloud Storage Service instances, select the Storage Service Connection Configuration tab. Select the OCI Object Storage Connection tab to configure Cloud Infrastructure connections, and select the UCM Connection Configuration tab to configure Universal Content Management Server connections.

6) Scheduling Extracts followed by a use case.



One can select below list of job types.

1)Application data Extracts.

2) Active Primary Key Extracts.

3) Application data and Active Primary key Extracts.

4) Delete Expired UCM files.

5) Delete files in External Storage.


Here we selected joy type as Application Data Extract.


One can select various recurrence form the below available list.

Now select the data store you want to extract.


Now select the external storage.


Configure Notification options and File Parameters.

you can set when and to whom to notify on different states of extract.


Optionally , you can also specify file parameters like the compression type , size to split the file , expiry data of the file and OIC file name Prefix as shown below.

The Extract got Completed successfully.
